we met on an app.
cris catfished jess.

when we met, he looked a little different.
less chiseled, more cuddly bear.
still a badass marine. still cute.
she’s into it.
first date.
the plan was zoo, then dinner.
but it rained. hard.
we had to skip the zoo
went straight to dinner.
(it still went pretty well.)
second date.

cris was almost an hour late 🙃
he was still getting used to the new city.
but he bought jess frozen margaritas
her fave. best margaritas, ever.
all was forgiven.
from there, more dates followed.
pool, trivia, drinks, dinners.
one night, cris cooked for jess.
like, a real dinner.
not just a “guy-tries” thing
it was a really good steak dinner.
happy stomach, happy jess.
that sealed the deal.
we made it official a week later.
since then, our life has been filled with adventures.
snowboarding, baseball games, water sports
yosemite, new york, florida…
cris went on his first asia trip with jess.
attended jess’s bestie’s wedding in thailand.
and spent time with her family in taiwan.
we’ve made memories everywhere.
but we also have our quieter moments.
we both gained many pounds of happy weight.
watched a lot of tv shows and movies.
we got a puppy, goose
he’s the happiest boy in the world.
wow we have a zoo at home — 4 dogs and 3 cats.
it’s perfect. but no more pets
our most recent trip — alaska.
ice climbing, snowboarding, nordic spa
fancy dinner, “seaplane” tour, dog mushing…
and then...
cris proposed.
with his grandmother’s ring.
on a glacier.
our helicopter pilot was ecstatic.

it was cold, heart-warming, beautiful
and absolutely perfect.
what’s next?
more laughs.
more frozen margaritas.
maybe some tiny humans.
